I consider that preparing the marinate by myself is safe instead of using ready marinate mixes. There is MSG (monosodium glutamate) in the most of ready to use mixed packages of spices. That's why it is better to blend spices at home, it's more natural and healthy.
It is easy, but just you need to give time for marinating process. About 10 hours. So, I leave it to marinate it in the evening and cook next day in the afternoon. Meat of the chicken is soft because of it's marinated and view is very appetizing.
For the marinating mix: salt, cumin, oregano, mint, coriander, basil, minced garlic, red pepper, black pepper powder, mayonnaise, vinegar, upon request, and squeeze the lemon juice. And before the baking I am adding slices of potatoes and pieces of butter. Bake it about 60 minutes at 180 °C.
